OUR SINCEREST APOLOGIES FOR THE DISAPPOINTMENT
Unsalted Organic Throuba olives have arrived.
Our trusty olive farmer has been exploring the concept of unsalted olives ever since we started buying their lightly salted Throuba olives and started making enquiries about the possibility of an unsalted variety.
It has taken a few attempts to get it right and we are so proud to now be able to offer them to our customers.
These olives are tree ripened and picked when they are at their utmost ripest. They still retain their moistness and although bitter, because there is no salt added, they are still very palatable, tasty and very moreish.
They have been described by our customers as
"really fruity and quite moist"
Unsalted olives are a very rare find in Greece and Europe and better than any other of their kind.
Not heat treated in any way the Throuba olive ripens while still on the tree thanks to Phoma Oleae a natural safe fungus.
The olives are picked when ripe and black in colour, they are washed in mountain spring water that comes from the nearby mountain village of Kazaviti. Following a fine selection process whereby the best olives are selected the olives are then air dried and packed ready for consumption.
These olives are blacker than black, meaty and moist in texture, they have a bitter rich velvety taste which will have you reaching for more.
Black olives and nothing else.
