Carob is a pod that is traditionally grown in the Mediterranean. The chocolate brown carob pods can be picked and eaten directly from the tree (bar the very hard seeds inside). Carob has an earthy deep fudgy flavour and a natural sweetness.
CAROB CHIPS CAN BE EATEN STRAIGHT FROM THE BAG OR BREWED INTO A DELICIOUS SWEET TEA
Carob tea: For the best Carob brew add 2 tbsp of carob chips to a small pan of hot water, simmer for 5 minutes to release the carobs sweetness. Strain the Carob pieces from the tea (saving them to eat later if you prefer), cool slightly and enjoy.
Alternatively cool the tea completely and add ice for a refreshing ice-tea.
To enhance the sweetness of the tea raw honey can be added.
