Oregano is the most popular herb used in Greek cuisine. Its citrusy undertones and fresh powerful aroma is a perfect enhancer for a variety of foods, from salads, to potatoes, meats, fish, cheese and tomato based sauces.
Greek Oregano thrives in Greece and is especially nutrient dense due to the long summers, sea breeze and mineral rich mountain soil.
Our Oregano is grown at an altitude of 1500 metres and is carefully hand harvested in the summer when perfectly ripe. The herb is then air dried in the shade to maintain its aroma and preserve its nutrients.
Aside from being a versatile culinary herb Oregano also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Hippocrates used oregano as an antiseptic, as well as a cure for stomach and respiratory ailments.
Available in both a kitchen ready jars and refill pouch.
