The quality and health of ones hair is often a sign of youthfulness or lack of it, by the age of 50 it is common to experience some hair loss and a lack of fullness and lustre familiar during ones younger years.

The scalp is slightly different from the skin on the rest of your body, but requires care and upkeep just the same. Scalp follicles are created for long hair, as opposed to the short body hairs found on the rest of the skin. The abundance of capillaries and blood vessels in the scalp make it extra important to have good circulation in this area to provide our hair with the nutrients it needs to grow and remain strong and healthy.
Hair thins and loses lustre or becomes thin due to many factors - less than adequate nutrition, stress, poor circulation, and environmental factors. Due to the scalp’s sensitive nature, imbalances in the body can show up easily as irritation, dandruff, eczema, and unhealthy or thinning hair. The condition of the hair is directly reflected by the condition of the scalp and the bloodstream; both work in tandem to promote hair growth. This is only one reason why the best possible nutrition is so vitally important. Products that provide nutrients, increase circulation and prevent build-up are necessary for optimum results.
SCALP TONIC WILL:

Active Ingredients
Chamomile extract. Chamomile is an annual of the daisy family, used widely in cosmetics because it contains an astounding array of scientifically confirmed beneficial properties. Flavonoids, along with lipophilic compounds, help strengthen and reduce enlarged capillaries, combating redness. Azulene reduces swelling, cleansing pores of impurities. Phenolic derivatives relieve skin congestion and offer antiseptic properties. Chamomile oil contains alpha-bisabolol, which promotes tissue regeneration. These, along with Chamomile's antioxidant, emollient and anti-inflammatory properties, make it one of the most versatile herbal ingredients ever to be used in hair and skin care products.
Salvia (sage) extract. Sage possesses extraordinary anti-aging benefits when used topically, as its extract prevents oxidative stress. Rosmarinic acid, found in sage, has been clinically shown to prevent oxidative damage to cells.. Sage extract is astringent, with impressive antiseptic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiviral qualities. Sage extract will help to condition a dry scalp
Cayenne extract. Cayenne, made from the dried pods of chili peppers, has been used medicinally across the world for hundreds of years. Cayenne contains capsaicin, the source of its medicinal properties. Cayenne pepper is the most effective stimulant of blood circulation there is. It works immediately to increase blood flow, acting as a catalyst to carry the beneficial effects of other herbs and substances in the blood to the area of application.
Mustard Greens extract. Mustard greens are one of the most nutritious foods available, high in antioxidant vitamins E, C and A. Vitamin C works to break down histamine, the chemical responsible for allergic reactions in the body. Mustard is also valued for its circulation-enhancing benefits. In Ayurvedic medicine, mustard extract has been used since ancient times to treat alopecia areata (patchy baldness), and is a common element in Ayurvedic practices promoting hair growth.
Peppermint (Mentha × piperita). Peppermint is high in menthol, which gives a cooling, soothing effect on the skin while increasing circulation as well as having a refreshing aroma. Peppermint extract relieves skin irritation and itching due to its analgesic and anesthetic effects. Other therapeutic virtues include antiseptic, astringent, circulatory stimulant and vasoconstrictor properties. Peppermint is believed to help regulate production of oil in the scalp when applied regularly.
Bilberry Extract. This relative of the cranberry, blueberry, and huckleberry is used as a miscellaneous skin-conditioning agent. It is a natural source of AHA and is an astringent, cooling herb that tones the skin. Bilberry contains large amounts of tannins, which act as an astringent and anti-inflammatory and help stop bleeding. The flavonoids it contains help improve circulation and prevent platelets from clumping together. Laboratory experiments have shown extract of bilberry inhibits enzymes that can cause collagen degradation. The anthocyanosides it contains also strengthen capillaries and aid in forming healthy connective tissue. Bilberry extract serves as a moisturizer and exfoliant, and offers anti-oxidant properties.
Sugar Cane Extract. A source of lactic acid with the capacity to leave the skin feeling smooth due to its moisturization and mild exfoliation properties. It safely and gently removes damaged, dead and dry skin cells. Glycolic acid from the sugar cane has the smallest molecular structure of all the AHAs, which supposedly allows for deeper skin penetration.
Sugar Maple Extract. This extract works as a natural source of AHA, namely glycolic acid. Sugar Maple extract is a keratolytic, which means that when the epidermis produces excess skin, this extract helps remove it. It causes the outer layer of the skin to loosen and shed. Keratolytics also work to soften keratin, a major part of our skin, which in turn helps to improve its moisture binding capabilities.
Orange Extract. This extract of the fruit of the orange, is a miscellaneous skin-conditioning agent. Used cosmetically, orange oil extract reduces puffiness and wrinkled skin. Both the oil and the peel are used for stimulating circulation, clearing up blemishes, and increasing perspiration, which assists in releasing toxins from skin and scalp. Orange peel is used as a natural exfoliator and provides a fresh, uplifting scent. Orange extract offers both astringent and exfoliating properties. The citric acid in orange extract can help stimulate collagen synthesis.
Lemon Extract. This has astringent properties which help eliminate dead skin cells without disrupting the pH balance or stripping the skin of its natural oils. It also acts as a mild antiseptic. It is a natural purifier, cleanser, astringent, decongestant and tonic and has a refreshing scent. It also helps balance the fluid in the cells.
Apple Stem Cell Extract is a new addition to the Scalp tonic. Apple stem cells are derived from the Uttwiler Spatlauber variety of apple, particularly known for its long-living tissue stem cells. One of the causes for hair loss is the decline in cell division in the hair follicles, however apple stem cell extract adds longevity to the cells, thus slowing down hair loss.
Rooibos; another new addition to the scalp tonic formula has been added because of its amazing antioxidant properties. It contains 37 distinct antioxidant substances, and is rich in minerals. A recent study has demonstrated marked improvement in hair quality and thickness as well as hair regrowth when applied topically to skin and hair.
Olive Leaf Extract the third new addition was added because studies have revealed that olive leaf extract creates an important soothing effect which aids in preventing hair damage. This ingredient plays an important role in protecting the hair structure as well as being a potent conditioner.
